For all that 2020 took away, it gave us something that many of us have been needing for a far too long. Time to pause. Many-a-hobby (or, activities) were picked up. Punch needling. Peleton biking. Bread making. For Kina, though, she threw it back to her junior high days of roller skating. Mind you, this was WAYYY before it became a thing on TikTok to the musical accoutrements of Stevie Nicks. And, skating was a way to be outside during lockdown. Back in the day, our roller queen was, kind of, a badass. She’d skate around Spinning Wheels like she owned the place, in her backless tops and body glitter. During lockdown, she’d befriended some fellow skaters on the levee and started up a regular meetup. With the weather unreasonably warm for the holidays, they’re planning an NYE Roller Disco out on the town. Anything to get out of the house…..
